Our à la carte menu is getting stronger by the week, but once or twice a week we still love doing things the old way: family-style, served with the ocean right there beside you.From San Clemente to Playa Remanso. This couple came through for three nights before flying home, and I only wish we had more time with them. They’ve traveled the world — north and south, snow and sun, surf trips and snowboard trips — so when people like that feel the magic here, it hits a little deeper. San Clemente (San Onofre) was one of my old surfing grounds back in my van-living days, so hosting them felt like a full-circle moment. And somehow, he showed up in baby pink micro-striped shorts that perfectly matched our baby pink macro-striped pool towels. A match made in Flamingo heaven. We hope to welcome them back soon — next time for more than one night.Some would say it’s Ai, but seeing is believing. One of our 8 pack, Machito sure loves a refreshing sunset dip.We enjoyed hosting these two for sunset sushi before parting ways. Friendly competition is healthy in the arena of hospitality. Longboards gliding, beginners catching their first waves, locals and travelers sharing the lineup. Down below the bars are pouring cold drinks, up here at Flamingo the view is front-row to the whole show. Sun on your skin. Salt in the air. Dogs wagging. New friends being made between sets. Some places you visit… Some places just feel like life the way it’s supposed to be. Everything paused for a few minutes… the dogs stopped running, the landscaping crew put the tools down, and guests stepped out onto the terraces. Just one of those simple moments where everyone looks up and smiles. Not a bad way to start the day in Remanso. 🌊✨Eighth member of the pack. First ballot Hall of Famer of Remanso. 🐾🌊 Meet Taco — 6 years old, boxer, salty legend. Around here in Playa Remanso, Taco isn’t just a dog… he’s a spirit animal. He paddles out into waves most humans think twice about. He’ll swim side-by-side with you for hours, no leash, no ego, just heart — until he’s so spent he can barely walk up the beach. Simple man. Eat. Sleep. Swim. Repeat. His favorite chew toy? A full coconut. No fancy ball needed. Just toss it and watch him go to work. Ears that throw gang signs and squared off teeth from chewing rocks. Taco is gangster and bit loco 🤪 He reminds us of something important: You don’t need much to live a legendary life. Sun. Ocean. Loyalty. And something worth chasing. Welcome to the family, Taco. The ocean just got deeper. 🐶🥥🌴Old friends who’ve seen every chapter. New family finding their place here. @prophetik has been coming since Flamingo was raw concrete, dust, and big vision. Now it’s dialed and still evolving. Recently we picked up a kitten that seems more like a Pirate’s parrot. Past, present, future—all in one frame. And a place that keeps growing, one visit (and one unexpected family member) at a time.The simple things are the sweet things. Dancing barefoot, cooking together, ocean swims, good music, board games that run late into the night. No rush. No agenda. Just time well spent with people who matter. This is what life is really about.
