Room & Facility FAQs

    • Check-In: 2:00 PM. Guests arriving early (from 11:00 AM) can drop their bags in the community dining room and enjoy the property while their room is prepared.

    • Check-Out: 11:00 AM. After check-out, guests are welcome to remain on the property and enjoy the amenities until 6:00 PM. Late checkout must be approved but 12pm is quite commonly ok.

      • Guests staying later may be asked to move their car to make room for arriving guests.

    • AC is Not working

      • If the AC is not working, it’s because the city electricity is out. The city electric does out daily in this country.

      • Fortunately,  Flamingo has battery backup to keep the fans, lights, and water working.

      • However, the batteries do not support AC and they turn off when the city electric is out.

      • The AC will automatically come on when the electricity returns.

      • Electrical outages are typically no longer than a few hours.

      • If you are hot, follow these tips:

        • Turn on your fan.

        • Open your doors and windows.

        • Take a cold shower or a dip in the pool.

    • How to Use the AC:

      • Using the white remote, press the orange button at the top left of the remote to turn the unit on or off.

      • Adjust the temperature using the "+" and "-" buttons.

      • Eco Mode: Press the ECO button to set the unit to 75°F (24°C), which conserves energy. This is our recommended setting.

    • Fahrenheit to Celsius Guide:

      • 78°F = 26°C

      • 75°F = 24°C

      • 72°F = 22°C

    • Energy Policy

    • Vaping: Permitted everywhere outdoors.

      • Please DO NOT vape in your room.

    • Pets are not allowed.

      • We already have a 7 dogs and any new dog always creates a “bark party” that disturbs the peace.

    • This is a private residence with the owner living on site.

    • Visitors are allowed but must be pre-approved by the host.

    • For single occupancy guests, you may bring a friend.

      • If they stay the night, a $15 additional guest fee applies.

    • We operate on an honesty policy. If you accidentally damage or lose something, let us know, and we’ll resolve it fairly.

    • Main Lighting: Light switches with dimmer sliders are located near the doors.

      • If your light is not working, please check the dimmer switch.

    • Bathroom Vanity Mirrors:

      • The vanity mirror has two switches on either side to turn the light on or off.

      • To change the color temperature (warm, natural, or bright light), tap the center of the mirror.

      • To adjust the brightness, press and hold the center of the mirror button until the desired intensity is reached.

    • In case of an electrical outage, we have battery backups to keep the connection running.

    • Network speed is sufficient to support video calls and TV streaming.

    • Network and password info will be provided upon checkin.

    • Safes: Each room has a security safe with a unique code. Contact us if you forget it, and we’ll manually reset it.

    • To open: Enter the 3 digit code and press the “key” button. Then turn the handle to open.

    • To Lock: Close the safe and turn the handle.

    • Push the handle up to secure the lock, then turn the lock mechanism while holding the handle up.

    • If the door won’t lock, jiggle the handle upwards while turning the lock.

      • If issues persist, message the host for assistance.

    • Tap Water: Our water is sourced from a clean, eco-friendly well and filtered and softened.

    • Drinking Water: Using a 6-stage RO filter, we create our own drinking water from the well. It is pure, delicious, and healthy. Fill for free by the coffee and tea or outside on the bar.

  • Flamingo is Septic, NOT SEWAGE!

    • Please throw all toilet paper and feminine products in the trash.

Bidet: A host’s favorite topic! Explaining to guests the proper way to wash their bum.

    • Every toilet is equipped with a bidet. Use it by slowing turning the pressure knob and wiggling around to spray and clean yourself properly.

    • Use TP for a quick dry and you’re done.

    • Cleaner than paper and better for our planet.

  • We are a Bed-and-Breakfast, not a hostel. Use of the kitchen is strictly for the staff and trained culinary professionals. We prepare a delicious breakfast for you daily and supply unlimited coffee, tea, and water. There are 3 beach restaurants just 200 meters north on the beach with delicious and affordable meals.

  • We recommend being seated by 6:30pm. For dinner, my recommendation is Tacos Bar. The kitchen is large and they prepare a variety of delicious meals with large portions. I recommend seafood or poultry (not steak).  For lunch I recommend Lainup bar or Slaudy.

  • We have a well-stocked beer, wine, and soda cooler with reasonable prices. We also have a variety of snacks for sale. These items are available 24/7 in the minibar area. We also provide unlimited coffee, tea, and drinking water free of charge.

  • We prefer you just bring bottles of liquor/wine and packaged snacks. Please do not bring packs of beer or soda as we have all that in stock at a reasonable price and don’t have room to cool it for you. Storing groceries and use of the kitchen is not allowed. We don’t like food in your room because it attracts ants. There is a guest fridge and microwave provided to store your leftovers and reheat them.

  • We love dogs and have 7 small dogs living on-site here. But our dogs don’t like other dogs onsite. Unnecessary barking will disturb the peace and so we do not allow other dogs here. Please do not ask for a special request. It’s hard to say no but it is the best policy for us and the guests.

  • We have 7 Yorkie cottons. They are non-shedding and hypoallergenic. The pack is comprised of a Yorkie Father “Macho”, Tuliere Cotton Mother “Sassy”, and five of their puppies; Frijol, Chito, Prissy, Stinky, and Shaniqua. Guests seem to love the extra entertainment the pups provide. They are out and about in the mornings from 7-10am, and then again in late afternoon - sunset.
